Canandaigua has many choices for breakfast, lunch and/or dinner… Nolan’s, Muer House Cafe, and The Inn on the Lake offer lakefront dining along the shore of Canandaigua Lake… Schooners, Peppers, Casa De Pasta, Eddie O’Briens, Simply Crepes, The Office and El Rincon all located in the City… just to name a few.
Canandaigua Lady a paddlewheel boat provides a relaxing atmosphere for touring beautiful Canandaigua Lake and the seasonally changing countryside. The Granger Homestead and Sonnenberg Gardens offer historic views of Canandaigua’s elegant past.
Fingerlakes Gaming and Racetrack for those of you enjoy thoroughbred horse racing or a little slot machine action.
Swimming, boating and fishing are favorite sports in the area… try to catch the “big one” in Canandaigua Lake. And in the winter, snowmobiling and cross country skiing are popular pasttimes, along with downhill skiing at Bristol Mountain, the state’s largest ski center outside of the Adirondacks.
Concerts in the summer at the Finger Lakes Community College’s Performing Arts Center are a real treat. The performances range from philharmonic orchestra to popular music to comedy. Recently expanded, the center offers wonderful seating and is attracting an even a broader range of performing artists.
The Culinary Arts and Wine Center is a great place to learn and give your taste buds a treat.
Summer arts festivals at Kershaw Park and downtown are also favorite summer activities. A free “Spot Hop” bus run all summer by the Chamber of Commerce can take you from Spot to Spot in air conditioned comfort and the service is free.
There are many opportunities for volunteering in the area… Sonnenberg Gardens, Thompson Hospital, Wood Library… just to name a few.
